MAXXAIR FAN INSTALL

MATERIALS: SCROLL DOWN FOR LINKS TO PURCHASE

Roof Vent Adapter ($50)
Self levelling roof sealant ($20)
MaxxAir Fan ($320)

Total cost of fan install - $390

DIY:

Maxxair Fan - we are starting with one and adding it to the rear of our van above the bed. Okay so when we did the insulation we left space for our fan… only o find out that the gasket fits a specific space on the roof of the van due to the ridges in the metal. So our first of many redesigns we had to remove the insulation and move our fan forward two feet.

You might see a theme with our installs, we drove to Michigan to install this fan and our window flares. Levi has family there so were lucky to have access to a garage to cut holes in our van indoors where it could stay warm and dry overnight to seal. The very next day we had a lot of rain and happy to say NO LEAKS YAY!

Overall this took us half a day, we did it at the same time as the window flares which made both easier.

Thanks to Dad and Uncle Steve for the help!

UPDATE!

Even though we ordered the ‘smoke’ version of this fan the underside of this product was still white. We installed it that way but we kept looking at it and how it stood out on top of our dark van. Eventually it annoyed us enough that we pulled it all apart, painted the whole thing black and reinstalled it. WELL WORTH THE EFFORT! It looks so much better inside and out!
